The first single cask rum release from South African based independent bottler Single & Single. Made from molasses with traditional column distillation and no added sugar or flavouring. Distilled on 31 December 1997 and matured for 23 years (11 years in Trinidad and 12 years in the UK) in a refill ex-bourbon barrel. Packaged in a specially crafted leather sleeve. Only 106 bottles were produced. Bottled at a cask strength of 64%.

Nose: Amazing nose. Very ripe banana and BBQ’d pineapple and fresh coconut cream. Some overly ripe dried mango. Sweet vanilla pod and deep leather chairs.

Palate: Wonderfully oily mouthfeel. A real explosion of rich deep tropical flavours. Layers and layers of intense tropical funk, in a very good way, and still clean and fragrant. More fresh coconut and vanilla for example but with the overly ripe banana and BBQ’d pineapples.

Finish: Very long, tropical, funky and spicy. Pops of cherry and blueberry.
